Labor Market Transformation – National Presentation of the New Labor Market Ecosystem “Obriy. Opportunities Ahead”
This marks the first public showcase of a large-scale state project designed to completely rethink and rebuild approaches to employment, education, and career development in our country. The event brought together government officials, international partners, business representatives, and the civil society sector.
What lies at the core of “Obriy”? Ukraine’s economy relies on its people, which is why the platform’s primary focus is human-centricity and barrier-free accessibility. The State Employment Service is transforming from within, turning from a bureaucratic tool into a proactive assistant.
Key insights and directions that impressed me the most:
Proactive support for those who need it most: For the first time, the state is building personalized digital pathways for veterans, IDPs, persons with disabilities, and individuals returning to their professions after a prolonged break. This is about real support and integration.
“Obriy Youth”: From school desk to the first paycheck: A dedicated, seamless digital track for youth aged 14–25. It includes career guidance, first job matching, integration with the Ministry of Education and Science’s “Mriya” system, and even an AI assistant at every stage. This is exactly what will help young people find their path within Ukraine.
Lifelong learning: Digital services will bridge the gap between individuals, education, and employers. For instance, training grants will serve as a launching pad for shifting one’s career trajectory.
Paperless employment: Transitioning to a fully digital cycle of labor relations—from resume creation and online interviews to signing or terminating employment contracts in just a few clicks.
Why is this important? Today’s labor market demands flexibility, speed, and maximum inclusivity. Transforming these processes into digital formats is about much more than just smartphone convenience. It is about restoring human capital, supporting local communities, empowering veterans, and creating conditions where every Ukrainian can see a clear perspective for developing their potential at home.
